One fiscal year in one lesson.
The business game for schools and trainings: teams run an innovation portfolio, an AI plays the market. At the end of every round, the actuals show which decisions worked – and which did not.

How a lesson works ↓
What the business game teaches.
Innovation Board Play practises what innovation management is about day to day: rating ideas, allocating budget and capacity, stopping projects – and later living with the actuals.
How a lesson works.
Each team works in its own plan variant: rate ideas, continue or stop projects, allocate budget and staff.
A fiscal year lasts as long as the teacher sets – for example 45 minutes. Quarterly news and events such as a supply shortage change the situation.
At the end of the round the board freezes every plan. The game AI sets actual costs, actual revenue and gate dates – with a reason for each project.
Ranking, market report for the team and debrief. Then the next fiscal year follows, four rounds in total.
What learners practise.
Actuals with reasons: the game AI explains every figure – the material for the debrief.
Four industries, one principle.
Each starting point with a fictional company, twelve projects and deliberately too little capacity. For shorter lessons there is a compact variant with eight projects. The game master chooses how the AI plays the market: normal year, recession or boom years.
You run the game, the AI calculates.
Set up a game in a few minutes; team logins are generated – no email addresses needed.
Start, pause or extend the clock; trigger events for all teams.
Ranking after every round; at the end the hidden quality of each project is revealed.
Every calculation of the AI is logged and can be re-run if needed.
Two example timetables.
